I could really use some help….

I have overwhelming bills. I can’t find a job. I have turned in 10-15 applications to places that say they are hiring for seasonal, or part time, and no one has called me back. I have taken and passed all of my GED pretests excpet one, and I have talked to the counselor to schedule classes in order to pass the last of my tests so that I can move on to my actual GED testing and to get my GED done so that I can go to college next year, but I don’t have enough gas in my car to get down there Monday-Thursday as they require.. And to take the tests is $85, which I certainly don’t have. Goodwill Working Solutions was going to give me $25/month in vouchers to finish my GED, but thanks to the economy andIdaho budget cuts, the program has been discontinued for anyone without children, which includes me. My boyfriend has tried going to Labor Ready, but they only take 1 or 2 people a day – if that – and they want people who have experience in that job, which he doesn’t have and can’t get without a job (that requires experience). I don’t have my license and can’t get it without going to Olympia, WA, which I can’t do because 1. I don’t have the gas, and 2. I’m not going to risk getting caught driving to the coast with a suspended status. My boyfriend had his but now has to pay a $65 reinsatement fee. He and the courts set a court date for a “driving with no insurance” ticket, and two weeks before the date, he got a letter in the mail from Boise Department of Licensing, stating that he had actually ATTENDED (actually been there in person) court already and that a judge had decided to suspend his lisence……HE NEVER HAD AN EARLIER COURT DATE, HAD NOT MISSED HIS DATE, AND HAD NEVER ATTENDED COURT……My cell phone bill is due on the 27th, it is two months late already, and if I don’t pay them $110 by the 26th, my & my boyfriend’s cell phones will be shut off. Which means no way for jobs, or parents to get a hold of him or I. My only source of income is $200 – strictly food only – no bills. I owe the courts $600-$700, and all these collected bills have all been sent to collections, so they are now collecting interest quickly. My bank account is $2XX in the hole, thanks to somehow going 20 cents over, and the bank charging $8/day overages as well as an initial $35 charge.
I am 18. I don’t know what to do, where to start, where to go for GED vouchers,where to get a job. I don’t have much gas to go very far, but I seem to find ways to get 2 or 3 bucks into the tank, which will get me about 18-20miles.

My boyfriend and I will work for anyone doing any sort of yard work – raking leaves, shoveling snow (when it comes), cleaning gutters, repairing fences, mucking stalls, cutting down small tress, chopping up firewood, any sort of construction, cleaningtack… what ever you can think of. We have a n F-250 with 1Ton overload springs, so we will haul, and make dump runs. Price will be neogotiably decided between you and us. It will not be by hour, it will be by size of job. Hour is not fair to you as some people like to slack and make the job travel farther into the day – and that’s not okay.

Commentary:

This will get flagged off soon as they posted in the employment section... you know, where employers and scammers post ads trying to hire someone, rather than properly posting in the resume section.

But at any rate, I get a certain amount of joy out of others misery, more so when it is so self created. I was semi-broke at 18 and had no marketable job skills beyond a strong-ish back, but at the same time I had my shit together. No money for cable? Don't get cable. No money for a cell, cancel it.

Moral of the story is something like no GED = no job, and stay out of trouble with the law. Why does a young broke couple need three phones? Also, why would one have to go to the state capital for a license?

Misery, it brings joy.
